Thomas William Maxwell Latham was born on 2 April 1992, in Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.

Latham made his first-class debut for Canterbury in the 2010-11 Plunket Shield Season. He scored 65 runs in his maiden first-class innings against Canterbury. Latham has played 147 first-class games, scoring 10,385 runs at an average of 44.19.

International Career

Tom Latham made his international debut for New Zealand on 3 February 2012, with an ODI match against Zimbabwe. He made his T20I debut on 30 June 2012, against the West Indies.

Latham made his Test debut against India in February 2014. He scored 29 and 0 in his first Test match. He achieved his first Test century against Pakistan in Abu Dhabi, on 11 November 2014.

Latham has 13 Test centuries in his bucket. In December 2022, he scored his 13th Test Century against Pakistan, the most by a New Zealand opener in Tests. His highest score on Tests is 264 not out.

In April 2019, Latham was named in New Zealand’s squad for the 2019 Cricket World Cup. He was also selected for the 2019-2021 ICC World Test Championship that New Zealand won.
